This DIY body scrub has no daunting tasks involved or crazy ingredients that you have to search far and wide for. In regards to homemade beauty products, it really doesn’t get much easier. If you’re an all-natural health nut like me, you have probably seen all of the artisan coffee soaps and scrubs popping up everywhere. This DIY is a great way to save some money but still reap the benefits of the new beauty trend: coffee.

THE BENEFITS! Let’s talk about them: 

Coffee: There’s a reason that coffee scrubs like Frank’s have been getting so much heat lately. Coffee is a major antioxidant which leads to anti-inflammatory and oxidizing benefits from the caffeine, translating to firmer skin. Some even say that it can help reduce the appearance of cellulite, I’m not totally on board with that statement (because cellulite is genetic), but hey… it might help!

Coconut Oil: Chock-full of vitamins and minerals that lock moisture and omega-3 fats into your skin. The era of oil-free is OUT, it’s becoming more and more obvious that our skin craves healthy oils to function properly.

Coconut Palm Sugar: This acts as a secondary exfoliant to the coffee grinds, and it smells great. By exfoliating, we help rid our skin of dead cells and pave the way for smooth sailing!

Cinnamon: This helps to clear our skin of excess bacteria and brings blood to the surface of the skin, helps to smooth out fine lines.

 

Here’s how to make your Homemade Coconut Coffee Body Scrub:

Ingredients:
1/2 cup ground coffee
1/2 cup coconut palm sugar
1/4 cup coconut oil
1 tsp ground cinnamon
*Try to use all organic ingredients if possible!

Instructions:
1. If your coconut oil is solid, gently melt and then let come back to room temperature. This is to ensure the heat doesn’t kill off the exfoliants.
2. Mix all of the ingredients together
3. Store in air-tight container and TADA! This will last about 10 days.
