The Easiest Go-To Raw Salad

Here’s an example of a super simple, nourishing, and completely raw salad you can make with ingredients that are probably already in your kitchen. It takes about five minutes to chop up and throw together, costs next to nothing, and you’re set for three or four days.

This may be the simplest salad recipe in the history of the world, but it’s extremely potent and detoxifying. Kale is one of the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet, giving you a superfood base, bell peppers have twice the Vitamin C of oranges, parsley and cilantro are very common but underrated herbs which remove heavy metals from the blood, yeast flakes are packed with protein and add a nice cheese-like taste, sunflower seeds are rich in magnesium, which ease muscles and stress; the list goes on and on. Eating salads like this regularly will flood your body with a diverse range of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, proteins, and good fats. Here’s what you do:

1/2 large bowl greens (I used baby kale here)
2-3 carrots, chopped
1 1/2 bell peppers (make it colorful!), chopped
1/2 cucumber, chopped
1 apple, cored & sliced
1 tbsp parsley, chopped
1/2 tsp cilantro, chopped
1/2 cup raw sunflower seeds and/or pepitas
2 tbsp nutritional yeast flakes
Juice of 1 lemon

1. Throw greens and chopped veggies into a large bowl
2. Add seeds, yeast flakes and the lemon juice
Note: Experiment with alternate salad dressings including extra virgin olive oil, salt, pepper, apple cider vinegar, amino acids

I highly recommend listening to this song while you whip this up:
