The cusp of fall is a season unto itself. You’re craving warm spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, yet it’ still a billion degrees outside. Sure, you can sweat your butt off as you indulge in a cup of hot apple cider… or, you can combine the best of both worlds. This is a refreshing, cool drink that evokes images of a roaring fireplace and fleece socks.

This Dirty Chai Protein Smoothie does exactly that. It has ginger, cinnamon, cardamom and honey to add a hint of sweetness. Since I usually drink smoothies to replace breakfast, a scoop of Vega protein powder ensures I won’t get hungry an hour later.

Now this recipe isn’t really a recipe – but more of a guideline to your perfect chai smoothie. Mix and match to your heart desires. Enjoy.

Ingredients:
1 very ripe frozen banana
Almond Milk
Cinnamon
Ginger
Cardamom
Honey
Vanilla extract
4 coffee ice cubes (or 1/2 cup iced coffee)
Scoop of Vega Protein Powder

Instructions:
1. Combine all ingredients to your liking and blend until smooth. Add the almond milk slowly until you reach your desired consistency, too much and it’ll get too liquid-y.

Optional: Top with coconut whipped cream.
